Russian Language Resources
There are a variety of free resources that your student can use to add some expressions to their repertoire and help their long-term memory!
Duolingo
Duolingo is a wonderful, free phone app (and has a useful web-based version too) that offers interactive practice in around 40 different languages. It gamifies much of the learning and encourages developing positive daily study habits. While there is an option to pay, you can do absolutely everything without paying. This is a must try!

Russian for Everyone
While it isn’t as flashy as some sites, Russian for Everyone gets the job done neatly and efficiently. It offers some introductory lessons, several phrasebooks and dozens of grammar lessons appropriate for beginning through intermediate students. Additionally, quizzes and tests are staggered throughout to make it easy to see how much you’ve learned. Plus, if you need a break at the end of a difficult learning session, Russian for Everyone offers a number of language-boosting games. This would be a good site to use for someone who is very motivated to learn more after (or during) the program.

Spotify Playlists
If you already use Spotify for music (or really any other music streaming service), why not check out some modern Russian music. Search "Top Russian Music", "Best Russian Rock", or "Russian Hits 2023" and you will find many curated playlists of music that is popular in the Russian-speaking world today. Even if you don't understand anything in the beginning, you're still likely to find something catchy that might motivate you to check out (and every learn some of) the lyrics. Nothing helps the memory like music!
